Prenatal care
Safety and trust from the very beginning – prenatal care by an experienced team of doctors
The time of anticipation is a very special phase in your life. Our primary goal is to provide you and your unborn child with the best possible support during this time. Regular prenatal care forms the foundation for a safe pregnancy: it serves to identify high-risk pregnancies early and to prevent complications during labor. Through close monitoring, we can detect potential health problems or risks for mother and child in a timely manner and take targeted action – for peace of mind right up to delivery and beyond.
A team dedicated to your health
Throughout your pregnancy, examinations take place at regular intervals. These are conducted either directly in our practice or in close collaboration with your midwife. We understand prenatal care as holistic support, where we focus not only on medical indicators but also on your personal well-being.
Comprehensive diagnostics and laboratory tests
Routine checkups, such as blood pressure measurement, weight checks, and urine analysis, are standard components of every prenatal visit. Modern ultrasound examinations also allow us to closely monitor your child's development.
1st trimester
After confirming the pregnancy and receiving the important laboratory results, we issue a maternity record.
The maternity record documents important examinations and results, such as blood type with Rhesus factor and relevant pre-existing medical conditions. The maternity record should be kept in your handbag as a constant companion during pregnancy.
2nd trimester
For most women, the most pleasant phase of pregnancy begins in the 14th week. The second phase of pregnancy is a time of relaxation, well-being, and preparation. The physical and emotional benefits of this phase create a valuable foundation for tackling the challenges of the third trimester with calm and strength.
3rd trimester
This phase of pregnancy is characterized by intense changes and preparations for birth. The growing belly and increased weight can cause physical discomfort. The antenatal examinations, including cardiotocography (CTG), are designed to ensure that mother and child receive optimal care.
Individual care during pregnancy
We provide expert and compassionate care throughout your pregnancy to optimally protect your health and that of your child. In accordance with German maternity guidelines, we conduct all recommended prenatal checkups, such as blood and urine tests, regular weight checks, blood pressure measurements, and ultrasound examinations at the recommended intervals. Using modern prenatal diagnostics—including ultrasound and genetic testing—we can identify potential risks early on. We diagnose gestational diabetes with the oral glucose tolerance test and, together with a diabetologist, provide you with individualized nutritional counseling and targeted therapies. We closely monitor preeclampsia and hypertension and initiate medication treatment as needed.
Traveling during pregnancy
Many airlines require expectant mothers to provide official proof of an uncomplicated pregnancy and confirmation of their fitness to fly from a certain week of pregnancy – usually from the beginning of the second or third trimester. To avoid any unpleasant surprises at check-in, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with your airline's specific regulations well in advance.
We will gladly assist you and prepare the necessary medical certificates and formalities for you – even at short notice.
Beyond the airlines' formal requirements, it is in your own interest to have every trip medically assessed in advance. In a personal consultation, we will address your individual needs, discuss sensible precautions during the flight (such as thrombosis prophylaxis), and check the medical care available at your destination.
Take this time for your safety: Early and individual advice protects you and the healthy development of your unborn child – so you can enjoy your journey without worry.
