Infections

Treatment of infections, e.g. respiratory infections, vaginal infections

Our approach to treating infections, such as persistent vaginal yeast infections or painful cystitis, is consistently holistic and interdisciplinary. We aim to treat conservatively and gently wherever possible. Antibiotics or antifungal medications are only used when no alternative treatment options exist or when the clinical findings necessitate it.
We are supported by modern point-of-care diagnostics directly in our own practice, as well as high-performing external laboratory partners, enabling us to quickly and precisely select the appropriate therapy for you. You can usually reach our practice daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. In urgent cases, especially with acute symptoms of cystitis or vaginal yeast infection, a doctor is usually available at short notice.

Respiratory infection

  • Respiratory infections such as colds or bronchitis require early assessment and targeted response.
  • Viral infections usually present with symptoms such as a sore throat and a blocked nose.
  • If a bacterial infection develops, the use of antibiotics may become medically necessary.
  • Special attention should be paid to warning signs such as persistent fever, severe cough or chest pain.
  • If breathing difficulties occur, a prompt medical evaluation is absolutely necessary.
  • Do not ignore a worsening of symptoms and make an appointment in good time if you are unsure.

Genital infections

  • Vaginal infections caused by fungi or bacteria are very common and affect almost every woman at least once in her life.
  • Typical symptoms such as itching, swelling or altered discharge should always be investigated promptly.
  • The causes are varied and range from hormonal changes and stress to a weakened immune system.
  • Treatment is carried out with targeted antifungal medications against fungi or local antibiotics for bacterial infections.
  • Lactic acid treatments and special aromatherapy therapies help to regenerate and prevent problems by permanently stabilizing the natural vaginal environment.
  • In cases of chronic recurring inflammation, vaccination with Gynatren offers an effective option for strengthening the local immune system.

Urinary tract infection (UTI)

  • Urinary tract infections are among the most common complaints and usually manifest as pain when urinating and increased urge to urinate.
  • Special attention should be paid to warning signs such as blood in the urine, fever or flank pain, which may indicate involvement of the renal pelvis.
  • Women are particularly susceptible to bacterial infections due to their anatomy and hormonal changes (e.g., during menopause).
  • Chronic cystitis is diagnosed when there are at least three infections per year, which necessitates specialized diagnostics.
  • The treatment usually combines antibiotics or herbal remedies with pain-relieving measures such as heat and physical rest.
  • To prevent recurring infections, immunotherapy (e.g. with StroVac) offers an effective way to specifically train the immune system.
