FAQ - „Frequently Asked Questions“
What should you avoid doing if you want to have children?
What you can do for a healthy start
Even before conception, you can lay an important foundation by starting to take folic acid early on to support the healthy development of your baby's nervous system. We also recommend that you have your vaccination status checked with us as soon as possible, since some vaccinations (such as those against rubella or chickenpox) cannot be administered during pregnancy. A balanced diet, moderate exercise, and regular prenatal appointments will help you optimally prepare your body for this wonderful time.
Is it possible to undergo artificial insemination with endometriosis?
Yes, artificial insemination is not only possible with endometriosis, but often a very successful path to having a child. Since the condition can make natural conception difficult, procedures like IVF or ICSI offer an effective way to overcome the obstacles of endometriosis. In our practice, we would be happy to advise you individually on how we can best prepare your body and which specialized centers are best suited to your needs.
What is IVF or ICSI?
IVF (in-vitro fertilization) and ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) are methods of artificial insemination in which the union of egg and sperm takes place outside the body in a laboratory. While in IVF the sperm cells must find their way to the egg on their own in a petri dish, in ICSI a single, selected sperm cell is injected directly into the interior of the egg using a fine needle.
Both procedures are used when the natural path to having a child is made more difficult – for example, by blocked fallopian tubes or impaired sperm quality.
